Legislative & Grassroots Programs: Make Your Voice Heard!

Having a strong lobbying team on Capitol Hill is very important, but Congress also likes to hear from their constituents on issues. You can help advocate wind energy issues to your representatives. You vote for your representatives, and it is your voice and your experiences that can help guide their decisions- if you make your voice heard. AWEA has a variety of programs to help industry members become more politically active and help promote wind energy-friendly legislation. Click on the links below for more information.

Legislative Action Web Site

Visit AWEA’s Legislative Action Website to contact your elected representatives about issues affecting the wind energy industry. It is important to remember that a significant component of AWEA’s legislative success is based on our ability to show legislators how important specific issues are to our members. In order to achieve these goals, AWEA relies on you to contact your elected officials during a “Take Action Alert.”

During the year, a particular bill or issue will arise and we will need you to “Take Action.” AWEA will send you a “Take Action Alert” message email with a link to AWEA’s Legislative Action Website, which will provide you with the tools to quickly and easily contact your elected officials with a personalized message.

Are you registered for AWEA’s Take Action Alerts? - All AWEA members with email addresses on file are already registered. If you do not think you are registered, click on the link to sign up to receive future AWEA Take Action Alerts. http://capwiz.com/windenergy/mlm/signup/

Legislative Committee

The Legislative Committee advocates on behalf of the wind industry. Companies participating on this committee have a strong, representative voice in AWEA’s lobbying efforts – and – determine the policies and direction taken at both federal and state levels. In order to lobby effectively, AWEA depends on financial support of these Committees through yearly contributions from corporate members. Please note that contributions are separate from membership dues.
