WINDPOWER Conference & Exhibition: Organized by the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), WINDPOWER Conference & Exhibition is the only U.S. national conference devoted solely to wind energy and features technical papers from experts in all areas of the field. The event is like no other wind industry trade show in the world, bringing together thought leaders, industry experts, and investors. WINDPOWER combines education, exhibition, and networking to capture the energy of the rapidly expanding wind power market, creating a venue for utilities who want to learn about the latest developments in wind power.
At WINDPOWER, AWEA devotes a good deal of attention to utilities, including a program track focusing on utilities. The utility track features utility speakers and experts, covers the latest developments in utility approaches and strategies for wind power, and provides case studies on wind power development from the leading utilities in the country. An in-person meeting of the AWEA Utility Working Group is always held at WINDPOWER to discuss key topics of interest and exchange information between utilities – information that you cannot get at any other event. AWEA also holds a special networking reception each year at WINDPOWER that is restricted to electric utility personnel and senior AWEA staff. Utility members of AWEA at the "U2" membership level or higher receive significant registration discounts to attend WINDPOWER, above and beyond the member discounts available to AWEA members. To learn more about upcoming activities at the next WINDPOWER or for more information visit www.windpowerexpo.org/utility or e-mail utility@awea.org.
AWEA "Utilities and Wind Power" Seminar: This all-day seminar focuses exclusively on issues related to utilities and their expanding use of wind power. It is held every year in November during the AWEA Wind Energy Fall Symposium at a resort location, maximizing networking opportunities for members of the wind energy industry. The utility seminar features the year's best topics on how wind power is being adopted by electric utilities throughout the U.S. and focuses on issues such as transmission, wind turbine price trends & availability, operations & maintenance, wind integration, and performance trends.
AWEA utility members at the "U2" membership level or higher receive significant registration discounts at these events as well. Learn more about the Fall Symposium and the AWEA "Utilities and Wind Power" seminar at www.AWEAFallSymposium.org or by sending an e-mail to utility@awea.org.
