AWEA Standards Program
The American Wind Energy Association is accredited to develop industry, national and international wind energy voluntary consensus standards. Technical experts and people materially affected by a particular standard govern the content of a standard being developed. AWEA ensures that the standard is developed in accordance with the procedures required by the accrediting body.
Wind energy Industry and American National Standards are developed in accordance with the essential requirements established by the American National Standards Institute. International wind energy standards are developed by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). AWEA administers the U.S. Technical Advisory Group comprised of experts representing the U.S. positions on international wind energy standards being developed by IEC.
