Essential Functions/Major responsibilities:

General Position Summary:
The Web Developer will work closely with the Web & eCommerce Manager to develop web applications using current web technologies (.NET, SQL, Cold Fusion, ASP.net). The successful candidate will work with a small web team to develop, maintain and continually improve the organization’s web properties.
Web Applications Development:
- Assess staff requirements, and use latest technologies to develop new web applications
- Build front-end user interfaces that integrate with back-end database.
- Work with staff to plan, develop and maintain an online Buyer’s Guide.
- Create compelling, interactive user experiences based on staff vision.
Website Development & Maintenance:
- Receive and fulfill requests for coding changes to live websites
- Work with web team to develop new websites and redesign existing sites
- Perform tests to ensure that coding and other errors are not found on websites
- Keep abreast of web industry trends, and recommend useful technologies
Web/Tech Support:
- Take leading roll in responding to internal and external web inquiries
- Provide technical assistance to website visitors
- Work with Web & eCommerce Manager to build online customer support center
- Troubleshoot and debug code
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of web technologies including .NET, Asp.net, SQL, PHP, Cold Fusion, Javascript, and/or other current programming technologies.
- Knowledge of current web standards
- Demonstrated ability to code in HTML and CSS, and use Dreamweaver templates.
- Ability to optimize graphics for use on the Web
- Experience with Flash, AJAX and Microsoft Sharepoint desirable, but not required.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree from four-year accredited college/university or equivalent academic and work experience.
- Previous web application development and website maintenance experience required.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Ability to be self-starting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiar with all major browsers and browser compatibility
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Solid PC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to meet and manage deadlines.
