The American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) is the national trade association representing wind power project developers, wind turbine manufacturers, component manufacturers, equipment suppliers, service providers, utilities, researchers, and others involved in the wind energy industry. The Association now brings together over 2,500 member organizations in all areas of the wind industry.

 

To provide a resource to companies looking to enter the wind energy industry supply chain, AWEA has produced a “Supplier Handbook” in conjunction with the BlueGreen Alliance and GLWN, a supplier chain partner of AWEA, to give companies basic information and guidance on the manufacturing and component supply opportunities to supply the wind turbine market in the U,S,  This resource will provide you with an overview of the wind energy industry and information on opportunities in this marketplace.

We are committed to the rapidly expanding wind energy industry across the entire project development life cycle. Specifically, AWEA is examining market shortcomings and obstacles to reaching the industry's goals, including (but not limited to) policies, logistics, skilled labor and manufacturing of equipment, components, materials and supplies. We are addressing these barriers through outreach and awareness and by bringing together organizations that are involved in this growing industry.

 

AWEA's main conference and exhibition is the annual WINDPOWER show. Organized by leaders in the wind energy industry, WINDPOWER has much to offer, including three days of conference sessions, an interactive tradeshow of wind energy products and services, and numerous networking opportunities.

AWEA also offers a wide range of workshops, and committee meetings, and working groups that strive to educate, impact standards, affect policies and change laws.
