AWEA Transportation and Logistics Working Group

The AWEA Transportation & Logistics Working Group (TLWG) provides opportunities to learn about and share current strategies to improve transportation and logistics in the wind industry. The purpose of the group is to eliminate transportation related constraints and standardize policy and procedures between states to enable the growth of the U.S. wind industry.

"As the wind industry grows in North America so do the size of the components and the number of shipments per WTG. The AWEA Transportation & Logistics Working Group is collectively working with OEMs, suppliers, and transportation companies to ensure that logistic challenges do not limit the growth of wind energy in North America."

Issues and Opportunities

The AWEA Transportation & Logistics Working Group identifies the top issues for transportation and logistics in the wind industry and forms subgroups to focus the team's efforts to find solutions. Under the guidance of the Co-Chairs the working group currently has two subgroups, each with their own Lead. The subgroups are an opportunity for members to lead the industry towards success through active participation.
