About the Workshop

Identify Challenges and Create Solutions to Wind Energy Transmission.

Solving the transmission equation can make the difference between a viable wind energy project and one that stays on the drawing board. This workshop will provide you the tools to solve the equation, and help you identify friendliest regions to develop wind energy, who is building transmission, where and when will power flow over those lines, and much more. The workshop will bring together top experts from the wind industry, the transmission sector, utilities, and policy making worlds to answer these questions and more, and discuss the progress being made, the difficulties that remain, and the paths forward related to transmission infrastructure, wind integration, and technology.

Learn:

  • which regions have the friendliest transmission policies

  • who is building transmission, and where and when the power will flow

  • how curtailment, integration charges, and other policies impact your economics

  • transmission technology innovations that could boost your profits

  • and much more!

Don't Miss Out!

If you're a:

  • Transmission system operator

  • Transmission planner

  • Transmission reliability authority

  • Developer (both wind and transmission)

  • Consultant

  • Grid operations lead

  • Policymaker

  • Turbine manufacturer

Exceptional Programming

Learn about proposed transmission lines in each region, issues that will determine whether these lines move forward, and grid integration and interconnection issues that are affecting wind development in various regions. Discover the opportunities, challenges, and solutions for wind and transmission expansion, and explore ways the U.S. can make more use of existing transmission capacity, work through interconnection queues, and expand the grid to include more wind.

This event will include two concurrent breakout session tracks; these intimate conversations will allow you to delve deeper into topics, at your level and pace, and get answers to your most pertinent transmission questions.

Topics Include

  • Where are the friendliest regions to develop wind energy when it comes to transmission policies

  • The status of proposed transmission lines - who is building where and when will you be able to get your power flowing over those lines

  • How improved forecasting and grid operations can improve integration of wind energy and boost your bottom line

  • What will proposed integration charges mean to the economics of your project

  • How is curtailment being carried out around the country, and what does it mean for your profits

  • Will FERC initiatives related to transmission planning and cost allocation actually lead to new transmission

  • What is new in transmission technology that may improve your ability to sell energy

  • What will the make up of the new Congress mean for transmission legislation
