February 11, 2009 will mark the biggest AWEA Lobby Day on Capitol Hill. This event will provide the wind energy industry with an opportunity to educate Congress about our businesses.

Congress determines the future of the production tax credit (PTC) extension, the creation of a national renewable portfolio standard (RPS) and climate change legislation, transmission accessibility and research and development funding. All of these issues are vitally important to our industry. It is our job to make sure our voices are heard by our elected leaders.

AWEA Lobby Day participants will have the opportunity to hear from wind energy leadership and key Congressional staffers about the Washington political landscape and how it will affect the industry. Participants will also go up to Capitol Hill to visit their Members of Congress and lobby them on issues important to their businesses. Lobby Day attendees will also have plenty of opportunities to network with other industry leaders during the event.
