AWEA Wind Power on Capitol Hill 2017

February 15 - 16, 2017

Washington, D.C.

It’s time to go to Washington to advocate for wind energy!

AWEA Wind Power on Capitol Hill is a rare opportunity for AWEA members and others who want to help advance wind energy to participate in advocacy training and then put that training to work to educate legislators and their staff on the wind industry’s top policy initiatives at both the state and federal level.

Over the course of two days you will:

  • Participate in an advocacy boot camp where you’ll learn from the pros the most effective techniques for conducting meetings on the Hill, and fostering long-lasting relationships with your elected officials.
  • Put that training to work in face-to-face meetings with your elected officials and their staff.
  • Understand how federal and state policies affect the future of U.S. wind development.
  • Network with your colleagues in the industry and congressional staff at a reception on Capitol Hill and become empowered to make this event the springboard for your continued advocacy efforts.

Rally time!

In addition to the advocacy training and a Lobby Day, you can take part in a special Wind Power on Capitol Hill Rally, featuring several VIP speakers, to raise awareness of the wind industry's positive impact on today's energy landscape.
