March 22, 2017 | 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Attending this post-conference seminar requires an additional registration fee of $150. You can select this add-on during the registration process.

Overview:

This practical developer-to-developer seminar, third in our series, will focus on case studies of projects that developed sufficient local support to get built – and other projects stalled by organized opposition. Breakout sessions will allow for peer-to-peer feedback; bring your best stories. We’ll also examine the roots of opposition, and steps that researchers and skilled practitioners say can be decisive when introducing communities to wind energy. Cliff Johnson of the National Journal Leadership Council will keynote on first-person testimonials and “advocate profiling” techniques used by the National Federation of Independent Business and others. AWEA will demonstrate new industry-wide tools, and take requests for further joint resources to help gain public acceptance.
