The ISP Market - An Evolving Landscape

Session Chair and Facilitator: Darrell Stovall
, Principal Engineer, Due Diligence & Consulting, DNV KEMA Energy & Sustainability

Many wind projects are seeing their warranty and OEM service contracts expire in the near future… what O&M extension options are available? If your company chooses to contract with an independent service provider, what are the steps in selecting the best one for your project? Owner/operators need to know what to look for, how to compare offerings, and what to expect from a provider. In accordance, ISPs should know what features, specialties, and capabilities they need to have to maintain a competitive advantage. Externally, there are also various events that may shape the direction of the market – and these situations should be explored before making ISP decisions. ISP representatives, owners/operators, and related stakeholders will find this session informative and beneficial.

Condition Monitoring – A Practical Case Study

Session Chair and Facilitator: AnneMarie Graves, Senior Team Leader, Operational Services, GL Garrad Hassan

For owners planning to hold their wind farm assets for the long-term, planning for and mitigating major component failures is a major part of the job.  A wide variety of condition monitoring technologies are available on the market to provide early failure detection from SCADA data trending systems to particle counters to high frequency vibration monitoring.  These systems also carry a wide range of cost and analysis effort.  Utilizing the perspective of a wind farm owner, a turbine manufacturer and a condition monitoring supplier, actual case studies will be evaluated based on the ability and timing of detecting damage, supporting infrastructure to process the data into actions, critical features and cost benefit.  Attendees will be provided with practical guidance on selecting the condition monitoring system appropriate for their business and project portfolio.

Speakers:
Adam Weiss
, Senior Product Manager, Bently Nevada Asset Condition Monitoring
Michael Hornemann
, Wind Drivetrain Engineering Consultant, Romax Technology
