AWEA prioritizes Occupational Safety and Health within the wind industry. With unique equipment and work environments, and ever changing technology, the wind industry has an increasing responsibility to ensure that workers are working under the highest possible safety conditions. AWEA’s Wind Power Health & Safety Workshop will offer opportunities to network with safety professionals, access to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) representatives, and innovative and effective strategies to ensure worker safety.

Each year, the AWEA Wind Resource and Project Energy Assessment Workshop answers the evolving needs of the wind industry. This year will be no different as the workshop will focus on taking challenging concepts and making them practical to the practicing energy assessor. This workshop will take a technical look at various topics from a comparison of modeling techniques and examining sources of uncertainty, to post construction topics that focus on turbine performance and operational assessments.

This workshop held in Detroit in conjunction with the Small and Community Wind Conference & Exhibition will attract representatives from a diverse range of markets to discuss the wind industry’s need to strengthen and expand its national supply chain to keep up with growing demand for wind energy and to increase domestic manufacturing of wind turbines and their components for homes and farms, and utility grade wind projects.

The Supply Chain Workshop educational sessions will be held concurrently with the Small and Community Wind Conference sessions allowing workshop attendees to have the option of attending the conference sessions or workshop sessions as well as visiting the exhibition hall that will feature supply chain exhibitors.
