The American Wind Energy Association would like to invite you to attend a meeting about establishing an American Wind Energy Association skill set seal of approval.  The purpose of the meeting is the following:

  • Analyze AWEA Survey results with currently developed course descriptions.
  • Moving forward in creating different skill sets for certificate and degree programs.
  • Final steps prior to establishing an AWEA recognized wind turbine technician skill set for AWEA Board approval. 

Registration
Register by June 19, 2009
Monday, June 29th from 1:00pm to 6:00pm, followed by a reception
Tuesday, June 30th from 8:00am to 5:00pm
Lunch will not be provided on Monday.

The meeting is open to all AWEA Business and Academic members, along with the Education Working Group members.  Registration is limited and discounts are provided to AWEA members. 

In preparation for the meeting please send your curriculum and course descriptions to rjonsson@awea.org, as soon as possible.  This information will be shared during the meeting, unless indicated otherwise.  

Hotel Accommodations:
The conference will be held at The Omni Shoreham Hotel located at 2500 Calvert Street, NW in Washington, DC. A limited number of discounted rooms have been arranged for workshop attendees at a rate of $149 plus tax single or double, plus applicable taxes. To receive this discounted rate, attendees should call 1-800-THE-OMNI and indicate you are with the American Wind Energy Association or click here. The discounted rate will be available while rooms remain up to June 19. Once the discounted rooms are sold out or after June 19 (whichever comes first), the hotel may continue to accept reservations however they could be at a higher rate for any remaining inventory.

Registration Cancellation Policy:
There will be no refunds made for cancellations.  Registration fees may not be transferred to a different AWEA event. However substitutions are permitted for no charge. Email information on substitutions to conference@awea.org.
