about awea
Regional Partners
AWEA partners with a network of regional organizations to promote the growth of the wind industry at the local, state, and regional level around the country. These organizations include a diverse set of key local stakeholders including not only wind industry companies but also often environmental advocates, representatives of the solar industry and other renewable industries, and other parties. AWEA is a member of each of these organizations to promote national, regional and local coordination and collaboration.
The regional partner organizations focus on key electric transmission issues, working with electric utilities, Regional Transmission Operators (RTOs), Independent System Operators (ISOs), federal power marketing agencies, and other transmission stakeholders. The regional organizations also focus on a broad range of state legislative and regulatory activities to support market development or remove market barriers including renewable energy standards, taxation policies, and other issues.
AWEA encourages its member companies and other advocates to join and participate with these Regional Partners in any region where the members are active.
